Ireland's hopes of Euro 2008 qualifying were practically shattered on the second day of the campaign, due to an embarrassing 5-2 away defeat at Cyprus. Luckily for them, they will meet Cyprus in this campaign as well, hoping to get even for what they did.
The Republic of Ireland will have to go for 2nd place. It will be a tough task not only because of Bulgaria, but also because they will have to find a way to recover from their mediocre Euro 2008 qualifying campaign.

Bottom Line: The flair of the Irish team is not enough to assure qualification for such group.
