Despite losing to Spain only after Penalty Shootouts, manager Roberto Donadoni was sacked, mainly because of the performances of Italy, which were way below par.  His successor is the manager he succeeded at the time - Marcello Lippi.
There is no doubt - Italy were drawn to an easy group, which they will qualify from with ease, therefore Lippi should concentrate of preparing Italy's next generation during the qualifying campaign.
