Poland came with high hopes to Euro 2008, after topping their group in the qualifying campaign, pipping strong Portugal. This is why their lackluster performances were so disappointing, as Poland finished with three defeats in three games.
Lucky for them, they were drawn to a relatively easy Group 3 and it seems they will fight the Czechs head-to-head for the much desired 1st place. We find it hard to see them doing so, but anything less than 2nd place will be a total disaster.
Bottom Line: A playoff place is the best they get.
