After dominating the qualifying stages, the Croats considered themselves, quite rightly, to be a prime contender to win Euro 2008. Beating Germany in the Group stage only boosted their ambitions, but then came the Turks and in a couple of minutes overturned their great joy in sheer sadness.
It will be interesting to see if this will have any effect on Croatia in the qualifying campaign. They have already proved to be better than England, but they will now have to prove it once again. It will not be an easy task, but it's a possible one.
Bottom Line: As long as they'll keep winning their home matches - their place in 2010 WC is almost certain.
