Russia took everyone by Surprise in Euro 2008, going all the way to the Semi Finals. Still, despite knocking the Netherlands out, Russia lost without a fight to eventual winner Spain, proving they find it hard when playing the bigger sides in Europe. This will put to the test in this qualifying campaign, as Russia will have to find a way to storm past Germany to claim the top of the group. We admit we find it hard to see it happen, and Russia will have to make sure not to let Finland to sneak in behind.
Bottom Line: Guus Hiddink will have to guard against complacency.
